2017 marked the 77th Anniversary of this La Paz based full service specialized business law firm with offices in La Paz and Santa Cruz. Founded in 1940 by Dr. Carlos Aguirre R. who practiced law for 50 years, of which he spent a year and a half as Justice of the Bolivian Supreme Court, the firm was reorganized and recognized by the La Paz Bar Association as a civil corporation in May of 1998. Bufete Aguirre has five partners, Fernando Aguirre B., Ignacio M. Aguirre U., Perla R. Koziner, M. Carolina Aguirre U. and Milenka Saavedra M. In October 2017 the Intellectual Property practice of the firm merged with the IP practice of QUINTANILLA, SORIA & NISHIZAWA, and as a result MELIORA IP S.C., a civil corporation, was established in order to broaden and improve the IP related services.
In a ceremony held on April 27th, 2015, in the city of Washington DC, Bufete Aguirre Soc. Civ was awarded with the Country Award (Bolivia) by Who is Who Legal. Also, in Honorific Session of the Municipal Council on July 16, 2015, the Autonomous Municipal Government of La Paz granted the recognition “Prócer Pedro Domingo Murillo in the grade of Civic Honor” to Bufete Aguirre Soc. Civ. on its 75th anniversary.
